Apparently, UPS service should still exists even if set as Disabled as PCBE does not use this service. I now get both PCBE Agent & Server Service Started on Automatic thou finally. The other worrying thing is that my UPS service has completed disappeared from my Services list. Server cpt of PCBE is missing from Add/Remove section, hence being only able to remove Agent & Console cpt.Īlthou the software seems to be running OK, I am still a bit wary of some of the evt logs being registered within the Console, but namely within the Event Logs. I have finally installed version 7.0.4 in a somewhat rather messy way, due to being unable to uninstall the whole software properly. Having asked APC Technical Support Line, it would appear that W2K3 SP1 is not a factor in the hang-ups whilsts upgrading to PCBE 7.x.

As the machine is which PCBE is installed is an important server, I did not want to risk anything else happening to this machine, esp when it comes to fiddling with the registry. I have avoided following APC's method of removal of s/w as this involves changing & deleting entries in the registry.
Last screen shows "Creating Server Service.", and under Services, unlike the Agent which says Started, it would seem the Server says Starting, but doesn't get to the Started status. Has anyone out there managed to reinstall or even upgrade their version of PowerChute Business Edition to 7.0.4? I am seriously having problems with the upgrade, I have followed most of the procedures as found on many forums, but to no joy.Īs always I get stuck at the point in which the Server component hangs during installation.
